Rugby League
My aim as an ambassador for Rugby League is to generate growth for this great game.
Bigger audiences, with greater coverage to a wider age range - children and adults alike, all fascinated with the great aura and passion of rugby league. Our game has now such a great reputation for providing all round family entertainment that the experience of coming to Odsal stadium is explosive.
All media relations and any events supported by me must promote the very growth of Rugby League. I am particularly interested in seeing the game grow at school level, local club level which will then lead to the amateur game becoming stronger and thus provide a stream of talent for Superleague!!
Grass roots development will bring 'future stars' into super league players - and extend the support across the board for Rugby.
Aspirations for the Future:
I am relishing the first 'hit' when I am back on the field - I love the big games and feel that's where I gain the most energy - preparing and playing in the big games is brilliant, you just hope you can get the win !
I have some great battles with the likes of Farrell, Scullthorpe and Sinfield. Playing against these guys really does focus your mind and make you aim for that next level of skill - believe me you need it to compete!
We have some fantastic players at the Bulls - Vainikolo, Fielden, Peacock to name but a few. Big characters, Big haircuts !
Last season was no doubt one of the best-the achievements were dreams into reality, although of course this makes 2004 an awesome task.
The true mark of a great team is a team that can re focus, start a fresh and do it all over again. Achieving consistency is a very hard thing to do then maintaining it - well lets see how we go, I can promise you it certainly will be a roller coaster ride!
Sky Sports, BBC and YTV
More recently following injury this has become a big part of activities over last 3 to 6 months. Various appearances as guest presenter as well as other television work.
TV work presents a great opportunity for me to gain experience in front of the camera - in the future, who knows perhaps this is something I will do lots more of after my career has finished.
All the mediums of TV and Radio have given me great opportunities to promote our sport - I would like to thank them all personally for the opportunities.
